Since the 1980s, there has been a growing focus on living a healthy lifestyle. This is due to the high cost of medical treatment relative to income, as well as the development of the motto: "It is easier to prevent than to cure".
One of the simplest ways to maintain health and prevent disease is to change the habit of consuming just any water with pure and clean water of measurable quality. at that time most people still used groundwater or tap water that was filtered again and boiled. In this way, the quality of drinking water obtained is still not good and unstable, because home-scale filtration systems are not effective and are highly dependent on the quality of ground or tap water. in addition, boiling water every day becomes an impractical job.
Starting from this condition, the idea emerged in the minds of the late Mr. Kasan Widjaja and Mr. David Hadiwibowo to provide pure, clean, drinking water with measurable quality on a factory scale, and then package it in bottles and gallons, to make it easier for people to access quality drinking water.
For this reason, the late Mr. Kasan Widjaja and Mr. David Hadiwibowo began to study the chemical and physical properties of pure water with the best quality for health, then filtration methods to obtain pure water with optimal quality, and how to manage the best bottled drinking water.
Reflecting on the way drinking water is produced in several developed countries such as the United States, Australia, and Europe, it is known that the best drinking water product for health is drinking water that has a low inorganic mineral content, especially the mineral content of Sodium (Na), Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), and Phosphor (P). This type of water is referred to as "Spring Water" equivalent category drinking water.
Humans need about 2 liters of drinking water every day. As is known, water that is drunk will be absorbed by the body and eventually channeled to the kidneys to be processed / metabolized and the rest is excreted into urine. While minerals will also be filtered and reabsorbed in the kidneys, while the rest will be discharged through urine.
If the drinking water has a high content of inorganic minerals, the kidneys will be forced to work hard to process many inorganic minerals. Over time, the kidneys can become permanently damaged and are no longer able to metabolize these minerals. This becomes a kidney disorder called Chronic Kidney Failure (CKD).
Chronic Kidney Failure Disease not only causes the inability of the kidneys to filter minerals, but also in filtering all the remaining waste and toxins from metabolism in the body. So permanent damage to the kidneys will lead to an accumulation of minerals, wastes and toxins in the body, eventually causing health problems.
Furthermore, excessive Sodium (Na) or Sodium content in daily drinking water will lead to electrolyte imbalance in the body and cause hypertension (high blood pressure) and water retention characterized by swelling in body parts such as the legs and face. Whereas excessive Calcium (Ca) and Magnesium (Mg) content in water, which is commonly called Hard Water, has even been known to increase the risk of developing kidney stones by 50%, in just a week of consumption by patients with kidney disorders. (Effect of water hardness on urinary risk factors for kidney stones in patients with idiopathic nephrolithiasis, V. Bellizzi, Journal Nephron, 1999, 81 Suppl 1: 66-70).
Likewise, excessive consumption of Phospor (P) can lead to kidney failure, bone loss (Osteoporosis) and narrowing and hardening of blood artery walls (Atherosclerosis) (Dietary Phosporus Excess: A Risk Factor in Chronic Bone, Kidney, and Cardiovascular Disease?, J. Uribarii, Adv. Nutr. 2013, Sep. 4(5): 542-544).
Thus, the best drinking water has the following criteria:
1. Physically clean: i.e. clear, clear, colorless, no solid particles in it.
2. Biologically clean: i.e. no detectable presence of harmful or harmless microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, moss spores, worm eggs, and so on.
3. Pure in terms of chemical content: water has the chemical formula H2o (dihydrogen monoxide). the best drinking water is that which has high purity. which consists of H2o as purely as possible and has only a few dissolved substances such as inorganic minerals, organic chemicals, and is free of heavy metal contamination. this is referred to as "Pure Water".
After obtaining this knowledge and information, in 1997, Mr. Kasan Widjaja and Mr. David Hadiwibowo established a bottled drinking water (AMDK) management company called PT. TIRTA MURNI PRATAMA.
The location chosen for the drinking water treatment plant is Gunung Putri, West Java, with the consideration that this area has a source of raw water, namely artesian water, in the form of an underground river that continues to flow from the top of the mountain. Thus, the availability of raw water will be guaranteed in abundance. In addition, its position hundreds of meters below ground level will ensure the purity of raw water because it is far from the risk factors of pollution.

1. The production water from the factory owned by PT Tirta Murni Pratama has gone through a gradual filtration process that is more effective than ordinary mineral water products so that it has low levels of inorganic minerals, such as Sodium (Na), Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), and Phosphor (P). Thus, our drinking water is different from ordinary mineral water, which requires caution in calculating the total minerals consumed, especially for the elderly, pregnant women, children, people with kidney disorders, and people with heart disorders. In other words, the water produced by PT Tirta Murni Pratama is very safe to be drunk in any amount by the elderly, pregnant women, children, people with kidney disorders, and people with heart disorders, as long as it does not exceed the normal daily consumption limit.

The high levels of minerals and salts in ordinary mineral water will cause certain flavors to appear when the water is consumed. Likewise, our produced water is suitable for restaurant use as it will not affect the original flavor of the dishes and beverages. For large-scale bread making, the use of high TDS water can affect the development process due to the interaction with salts and minerals.
3. HOSPITALS, LABORATORIES, AND OTHER HEALTH FACILITY PROVIDERS
Many equipment used in hospitals, health laboratories and other health facilities use filters that must be cleaned regularly using clean water. These filters will quickly become clogged with salts and minerals contained in mineral water or high-TDS water so that they can no longer be used.
By using low-TDS water produced by PT Tirta Murni Pratama, the life of the filter will be much longer and can save costs.
4. INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY.
PT Tirta Murni Pratama's water products have a low TDS value, meaning that they have a very low mineral and salt content. By using low-TDS water, the water will not leave salt and mineral residues when used for factory machinery, for example in boilers and water lines. As is well known, residual salts and minerals will form a kind of scale or white coating in the machine, which results in corrosion or gives a metallic taste in the final product.
PT Tirta Murni Pratama can meet the needs of low TDS water on a large scale for industrial and factory use.
Our Technology
To obtain drinking water quality according to the best criteria, PT Tirta Murni Pratama uses several stages of raw water filtration and adds several special treatments before the water packaging stage.
The filtration method starts with physical filtration, to separate raw water from solid impurities. Then filtration is carried out using certain materials to purify water from organic chemical impurities.
Next, filtration is carried out using the latest method, namely Ultra Selective Filtration. At this stage, water purification is carried out using high pressure through porous membranes. Ultra Filtration will clean the water from chemical particles, both organic and inorganic, that escaped from the previous filtration stage, such as bacteria, polymer molecules, calloid substances and so on.
The water that has passed through several stages of filtration will be increased in purity using a filtration method adopted from drinking water treatment systems that have been applied in developed countries, namely Reverse Osmosis. Purification will use high pressure through a semipermeable membrane. Thus, contaminants/impurities that have a very small size, but larger than water molecules, will be filtered out, including inorganic minerals such as Sodium (Na), Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), and Phosphor (P). The resulting water is water that has a very high water molecule (H2O) content with low mineral content and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS).
Through the above stages, we can ensure that our product is pure drinking water with low levels of inorganic minerals and TDS (around 5 mg/liter).
The water purification technology has even been recognized by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration: US Food and Drug Administration) and the NSF (National Science Foundation).
Then, the high purity water is treated using Bio Ceramic. Bio Ceramic is made of 26 kinds of ceramic with various oxide minerals and heated together at 1600°C, then cooled. This bioceramic will emit Infra-Red / FIR (Far Infrared Rays). FIR causes resonance in water molecules, so that a large group of water molecules will split into single water molecules in the FIR beam area, and will return to form smaller groups after leaving the FIR beam area. The result is active water molecules that are smaller and more organized, which makes them more easily absorbed by the body, making the water fresher and healthier.
Furthermore, the water sterilization stage is carried out using Ozone (O3) and Ultra Violet (UV) light to ensure that all residual bacteria, viruses, moss spores, fungi, worm eggs and so on (if any) are destroyed.
Every year, PT Tirta Murni Pratama updates its filtration technology to keep up with the latest technological advances in filtration and drinking water quality.
In 2022, PT Tirta Murni Pratama has added a new line of production, the first health drinking water in Indonesia with high pH (alkaline water) that has low TDS.
Our Alkaline Water uses raw water that comes from the results of filtration many times, so it has the lowest TDS number among other alkaline water. The advantage is that this alkaline water is healthier for people in general, especially for people with kidney, heart, and senior citizen disorders. In addition, the alkaline water produced by PT Tirta Murni Pratama is more pH stable than alkaline water made from high-TDS raw water because it does not contain many salts and minerals that will react in alkaline pH conditions resulting in changes in water pH if left for some time.
Quality Control
In each production batch, PT Tirta Murni Pratama conducts internal testing of product quality. For this reason, PT Tirta Murni Pratama has a testing laboratory at the production site. In addition, periodically and routinely, production results will be sent to an external laboratory accredited by BPOM.
Every year, our products undergo routine testing procedures by the SNI Agency to ensure product quality. The requirements that must be met for drinking water produced by PT Tirta Murni Pratama are in accordance with the technical requirements of bottled drinking water SNI-01-3553-2006, with ISO 9001 Quality Management System Guidelines: 2008.
All of PT Tirta Murni Pratama's products have also received Halal certification.
